ABOUT STRATEGIC PLANNING
"Strategic Church Planning is a process by which pertinent questions are addressed and a careful plan is developed to move a congregation in the direction of spiritual growth."
By describing a vision for the church as "strategic", we intend to communicate two fundamental thoughts.
First, the vision is to be long-range (beyond this month's list of issues or even next year's operating budget), focusing on the basic questions concerning the very identity of the church.
Secondly, the vision is to be goal-driven, with specific objectives defined and a plan (strategy) for their realization clearly set forth.
Strategic planning has been widely accepted as a useful method for orienting an organization toward the accomplishment of well-defined purposes. It was first recognized as a valuable tool for the military and has since become an integral part of the world of business and industry. Its use in the religious realm has been limited, perhaps in part because its secular usage has made it seem an inappropriate tool for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
The fact remains, however, that clarity of purpose and vision is just as essential an element in determining the success of the church as it is in any other venue. In fact, if properly founded on God's will, strategic planning can be the single most important human initiated factor in congregational revitalization or renewal.
CBTI'S STRATEGIC PLANNING SERVICES
We believe that all churches are unique and gifted by God with different people, talents, resources and opportunities. For that reason we seek to serve as facilitators in helping you get started in the right direction and assisting you in moving forward in your strategic planning process. We do not do the planning for you but teach you how to develop an effective planning ministry that will serve your congregation in the future. We offer three levels of service for you:
LEVEL ONE: Strategic Planning Bundle. Cost: $199. This includes four books that will help you understand the role of planning in a congregational setting and three of CBTI's planning tools sent to you via e-mail to help you facilitate the process on your own.

LEVEL TWO: Strategic Planning Bundle & Consultation. Cost: $495. This includes the books and planning tools in Level One as well as four telephone consultations with a CBTI consultant who will advise you what is needed to effectively launch your planning ministry, to develop a "Plan for Planning", and to insure that you are moving in the right direction.
 LEVEL THREE: Strategic Planning Retreat. Cost: Approx. $1,500 plus expenses. (highly suggested for the most effective results in your planning ministry) A seasoned CBTI consultant will help lead your congregation through a comprehensive planning process that will bring renewed focus and energy to your ministry efforts. Beginning with a three-day strategic planning retreat with your church leaders or parachurch board, CBTI will share Biblical teaching for planning in the context of the local church, assist your church leaders in developing a "Plan for Planning", and give you the knowledge and understanding needed to develop a comprehensive planning ministry in your local church or parachurch ministry. You'll also leave the retreat with a written master plan for your church or organization.
